The Accounts reports provide detailed information on the GL Account ID balances
in a given period and the changes in the GL Account ID balance between periods
as well as the listing of account categories, account groups and account
segment values. These reports help you in reviewing the trend of the company’s
operations by analyzing the changes in the GL Account ID balances. These
reports also help you in assessing the propriety of each GL Account ID’s
category.
Each of the Accounts reports is especially designed to provide several options
so you can narrow down data to the specific information needed. Read the
information below to get a closer look at each of the Accounts reports
available in AccountMate.
Account Balance Change
The Account Balance Change report provides information on any changes in the GL
Account ID balance between two specified periods within a fiscal year. This
report shows the GL Account ID’s balances for each period and calculates the
change between the two balances. This report is useful for verifying and
monitoring the changes in the GL Account ID balances to better understand the
company’s overall operations.
You can select to include in this report the GL Account IDs and zero balance
accounts.

Account Balance Report
The Account Balance Report provides information on the GL Account ID balances
either for each period or a range of periods. The year-to-date Account Balance
report displays each GL Account ID’s cumulative balance at the end of every
selected period while the period-to-date report displays the GL account ID’s
balance for each period only. This report is useful for analyzing accounts for
consistency, detecting pattern of changes for each GL account balance over a
period and as a reference in preparing periodic forecasts.
You can select to generate this report using the period-to-date or year-to-date
option. You can also opt to include zero balance accounts in this report.

Account Categories Listing
The Account Categories Listing provides information on the GL Account IDs’
assigned categories that are used in financial statements. This report shows
each GL Account ID and its assigned category as well as the account group ID
and description. It also shows whether the account category is used in the
Balance Sheet or Income Statement. This report is useful for reviewing the
completeness and propriety of the account groups and for reviewing the
organization of your financial statements based on the assigned account
categories. You can also use this report as a reference when setting up new GL
Account ID records.
You can select to generate this report showing the GL Account IDs that are
assigned Balance Sheet type, Income Statement type, and Comprehensive Income type account categories.

Account Group Listing
The Account Group Listing provides information on the account groups set up in
AccountMate. This report allows you to quickly review the account group IDs,
the category IDs and their descriptions. This report is useful for reviewing
the correctness and propriety of the account groups and account categories; it
serves as a reference when setting up or updating your chart of accounts and
account groups.

Account Segment Values Listing
The Account Segment Values Listing provides information on the account segment
values set up for each account segment type. It lists the account segment types
and values as well as each account segment value’s assigned group ID, cash flow
categories, and ratio group. This report is useful for reviewing the
correctness of the account segment values and determining the propriety of the
cash flow category and ratio group assigned to each segment value.
