Inventory Control - Inventory Analysis Reports

The Inventory Analysis Reports are especially designed to help you analyze the average inventory period and inventory turnover ratio. These reports serve as signals to problem areas and help you focus your attention to operations that need improvement. These reports provide a wide variety of inventory item information including the average number of days in a specified period that goods are held in inventory before they are sold and the inventory turnover changes over time as well as the inventory turnover ratio, which is a measure of how efficiently a company can control its inventory.

Each of the Inventory Analysis Reports is especially designed to provide several options so you can narrow down data to the specific information needed. Read the information below to get a closer look at each of the Inventory Analysis Reports available in AccountMate.

Inventory Turnover Ratio Report

The Inventory Turnover Ratio Report provides information on the inventory turnover ratio, which is determined as the cost of goods sold in a specific period divided by the average inventory for that period. This report is very useful in determining the company's effectivity in selling the inventory it buys and the liquidity of the company's inventory.

You can opt to include in the report the shipments that are yet to be invoiced. You can also opt to include the archived inventory items. This report can be generated only for active items, only for inactive items, or all inventory items regardless of their status. You can further filter the report to include only the items with sales activities, only the items with no sales activities or all inventory items regardless of whether these were sold or not within the specified period.

Average Inventory Period Report

The Average Inventory Period Report provides information on the average number of days in a specified period that goods are held in inventory before they are sold. It also shows how inventory changes over time. This report is very useful in determining the sales trends to reduce inventory carrying costs and in monitoring the amount of time goods sit in inventory and remain unsold.

You can opt to include in the report the shipments that are yet to be invoiced. You can also opt to include the archived inventory items. This report can be generated only for active items, only for inactive items, or all inventory items regardless of their status. You can further filter the report to include only the items with sales activities, only the items with no sales activities or all inventory items regardless of whether these were sold or not within the specified period.
